Content Farms Hammered

Recently there have been a lot of bleating about the new google algorithm but there hasn’t been much in the way of hard facts about how it will affect our virtual real estate rankings.

It is starting to become clearer however, that google has targeted content farms and thin content sites for producing poor material. It was always on the cards that this would happen sooner rather than later as Google has had slew of complaints from news sources and heavy weight content driven websites that they are being pummeled by plagiarized material.

The problem is that every time someone copies a piece or an article then submits it to an article directory or depositary it actually devalues that website and ultimately it will show in that particular websites rankings.

Google have made it clear that they Will reward websites that have original content, well researched material and in depth reports by increasing their rankings.

It is assumed that in the order of 12 percent of search queries in the USA will be affected by this change and as it is rolled out world wide it will gain momentum.

Although we have heard about duplicate content penalties and scraped content issues month after month it goes without saying that Google are very serious about quality and we will have to be very careful what we submit to the search engines in the future.
